At Somerville Rise Primary School, we are committed to nurturing the whole child. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is embedded across our classrooms and school culture, supporting students to develop the skills they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Through explicit teaching and consistent whole-school practices, students build emotional literacy, self-regulation, positive relationship skills and resilience. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based frameworks, including our established whole-school wellbeing programs, and is strengthened through our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model.
Our MTSS framework ensures that every student receives the level of support they need. High-quality, universal wellbeing practices are delivered to all students, while targeted small group and individual supports are provided when additional guidance is required. This structured and proactive approach allows us to respond early, monitor student progress and provide consistent, wrap-around support.
At Somerville Rise, wellbeing is not an “add-on” — it is a shared responsibility and a foundation for learning. We are proud to create a safe, predictable and inclusive environment where every student feels known, supported and ready to learn.
