Sprint Feedback
Sprint Feedback will be available to families six times a year. These reports are designed to give parents/carers regular updates on their child’s performance in their academic achievement of reading, writing and number in the form of a table. They cover a five-week unit in which students are marked against key focus goals which are outlined in curriculum overviews. This report will not highlight all elements of learning but a snapshot of some of the key skills and knowledge.
Sprint Feedback has been designed to provide parents/carers more timely information on the child’s academic progress as well as their work habit performance to begin conversations at home about school and to assist early intervention and support.
Classroom Teachers will be providing Sprint Reports highlighting both academic achievements in Reading, Writing and Number, as well as student work habits in effort and behaviour. Specialist Teachers will provide effort and behaviour marks only in their subjects; Performing Arts, Visual Art, Physical Education, Barn and Library.
Semester Reports
Semester Reports will be available twice a year to families, sent out at the end of Term 2 and Term 4. These reports will show students’ academic achievement in all of the different learning areas for the semester in the form of a progression point chart. They will also show year to year progress and be marked against the Victorian Curriculum. Every year level will report against all strands of English and Mathematics, Personal and Social Capabilities and the subjects relevant to our specialist classes (Visual Art, Performing Arts and PE) each semester. A two-year cycle has also been developed that aligns with our inquiry units for reporting on all other areas of the curriculum, such as Science, Humanities, Critical and Creative Thinking, Design Technologies and Digital Technologies.
Semester Reports will contain one general comment written by the classroom teacher specific to each child that covers, but it is not limited to, student effort, attitude, how they work with peers, organise themselves for learning and their learning behaviours. Specialist teachers will provide a content descriptor for each year level outlining what was taught that semester, these will not be student specific.
Semester Reports vs Sprint Feedback
Semester Reports differ from Sprint Feedback in a few ways:
Both are valuable pieces of information for parents about their child’s academic progress.
