Each year, we release statewide enrolment timelines to support schools to plan for the upcoming enrolment period.

The following statewide enrolment timelines for the 2027 school year are now available in the resources tab of the Enrolment policy:

Schools must follow the statewide enrolment timelines. They include key dates, descriptions of activities and an overview of responsibilities.

Additional resources are also available to support enrolments. These include template website content for primary and secondary schools, and a Foundation enrolment fact sheet for parents and carers.

Action required

You must:

  • read the timelines and share them with relevant teaching and administration staff, by the end of Term 4 (Friday 19 December 2025)
  • update your school website to include information about 2027 enrolment timelines, by Term 1, 2026. Template website content is available in the resources tab of the Enrolment policy:

For primary schools: during school tours in 2026, or when responding to Foundation enrolment enquiries, share the Foundation enrolment fact sheet available on the Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) webpage at Starting school.

Next steps

Enrolment applications for Foundation and Year 7 for 2027 will open from the start of Term 2, 2026 (Monday 20 April 2026).

To support this, the following resources will be available from late Term 1, 2026:

  • more resources to help schools manage enrolments, including updates to school zones for 2027, on Find my School.
