At Somerville Rise Primary School, we aim to spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills through our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program. Guided by the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, our STEM program helps students explore real-world challenges, develop innovative solutions, and apply critical thinking across a range of subjects.
Students from Foundation to Year 6 participate in a 60 minute STEM session each week. Students engage in hands-on, collaborative projects that encourage them to ask questions, test ideas, and learn from trial and error. They learn scientific concepts, use digital technologies confidently, and develop engineering and design thinking skills, all while building teamwork, communication, and resilience.
