At the beginning of every school year the first five days are dedicated to “Setting the Climate”. This mini unit ensures our classes are set up for a productive year, with classroom process and expectations well-established. It is also an important time for teachers and students to build relationships with each other.
During the 'Setting the Climate', each classroom develops the following non negotiables
- Introduction to the Berry Street Education Model
- Develop understandings of Passive and Active Zones. Including
- What it looks, feels and sounds like.
- What a successful student looks like / what a successful teacher looks like.
