At Somerville Rise we believe that Wellbeing is essential for learning. We know mindfulness practices allow students to increase their ability to regulate emotions, decrease stress, anxiety and depression. They also help students to focus their attention and observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment. With mindfulness, students are more focussed and more engaged learners.

Mindfulness can have a positive impact, including:

  • Increased attention and focus
  • Improved student results
  • More effective emotion regulation
  • Improved behaviour in school
  • Greater empathy and perspective-taking
