At Somerville Rise Primary School we understand that using information technology is an integral asset in today’s changing world. The world is no longer interested in what you know but rather what you do with your knowledge. Creatively is inherent in every child and therefore should be fostered and nurtured through inquiry and personalised learning. The use of technology at Somerville Rise Primary school supports the inquiry process and personalised learning, recognising that all students are individuals with different talents and skills. We therefore aim to use technology to personalise learning and enhance student skills in coding, robotics, the use of algorithms and problem solving.
Technology is also used to enhance our learning programs, work collaboratively and gain feedback. Students are encouraged to be active users of technology, asking questions, research information and draw conclusions. We have worked with many key players in the technology industry including ESSO, receiving grants for robotics and digital technology devices.
