Message from Matt Jackson, Somerville Rise Principal for Term 1 2026✨

Welcome to Term 1 at Somerville Rise Primary School.

There is something special about the beginning of a school year. New classrooms, new friendships, new goals and fresh opportunities to grow. Whether you are joining our community for the first time or returning for another year, we are excited to partner with you in 2026.

At Somie Rise, we remain deeply committed to ensuring every child experiences high levels of learning, strong relationships and a genuine sense of belonging. Our work this year continues to focus on strengthening instructional practice in every classroom, building student voice and agency, and maintaining calm, orderly learning environments where all students can thrive.

Term 1 is a crucial time for establishing routines, expectations and learning habits that set students up for success. Our teachers have been working hard to plan engaging, explicit and purposeful learning experiences, underpinned by high expectations and consistent approaches across the school. We know that when clarity and care go hand in hand, students flourish.

We also recognise that strong partnerships between home and school are essential. We value open communication, shared responsibility and working together to support each child’s growth — academically, socially and emotionally. Thank you for the trust you place in us.
