RISE UP is another one of our unique programs which was created to explicitly teach values and positive education initiatives throughout our school, in a multi-age (F-6) small group setting.
All teachers are involved, with each one assigned to one of our house groups. Students are allocated a house group and a RISE UP teacher therefore creating the opportunity for students to develop relationships with various teaching staff throughout our school.
RISE UP sessions take place on a Friday afternoon twice or three times a term (every 4 weeks). The focus of each session complements the values focus of the school, Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships and initiatives set out in the Resilience Project.
Each group remains with the same teacher throughout their primary school years, with Grade 6s being replaced with the new school starters the following year. This creates an opportunity for mentoring between year levels, buddy relationships to develop between the preps and older students and allows the students to have another teacher to add their list of those adults they can trust and talk to if they have problems.
